Should you move the load as fast as possible?
For strength, distinguish intent from the speed you observe. You can try to drive a heavy load forcefully even when the bar moves slowly. A meta-analysis of 15 studies and 509 adults found no overall difference in strength gains between fast and moderate-to-slow execution; it found only a trend favoring faster movement with moderate loads.

Can you compare two sets performed at different tempos?
