Description

Hex press at a slight incline to prioritize the top of the pectorals.

01 · Setup

Set up the movement

  • Set up an inclined bench (around 15-30°) and brace your upper back.
  • Tilt between 15 and 30 degrees.
  • Shoulder blades tight and lowered, chest open.
  • Close hands with constant internal pressure.
02 · Execution

Perform the rep

  1. Descend controlled towards the top of the chest without losing internal pressure.
  2. Stop briefly at the bottom.
  3. Push up while keeping your elbows under control and your wrists neutral.
Technique cue

Continuous internal pressure and stable trajectory with slight inclination.

Common mistakes
  • tilt too high
  • pressure released at the top
  • elbows that open too much
  • bounce down
Safety notes

Risks of poor execution

  • Excessive tilt increases the load on the front of the shoulder.
  • Losing internal pressure can shift stress to the wrists.
