Description

Incline fly to accentuate the upper portion of the pectorals.

01 · Setup

Set up the movement

  • Set up an inclined bench (around 15-30°) and brace your upper back.
  • Moderate inclination between 15 and 30 degrees.
  • Shoulder blades tight and lowered, chest out.
  • Arms slightly bent with fixed angle.
02 · Execution

Perform the rep

  1. Come down in a wide arc to a comfortable stretch.
  2. Keep the same elbow flexion.
  3. Bring your arms back in an arc by contracting your pectorals.
Technique cue

Smooth arc, fixed elbow, low shoulders.

Common mistakes
  • inclination too steep
  • rising shoulders
  • movement that becomes a push instead of a fly
  • descent without control
Safety notes

Risks of poor execution

  • A forced range of motion increases the tension on the pectoral junction.
  • A lack of control can overload the front shoulder.
