Description

Inclined press in reverse grip to accentuate the top of the pectorals with guided trajectory.

01 · Setup

Set up the movement

  • Adjust the starting height and safety of the Smith machine.
  • Slight tilt, shoulder blades tight and lowered.
  • Comfortable reverse grip, wrists aligned with forearms.
  • Elbows close to 45 degrees from the torso.
02 · Execution

Perform the rep

  1. Slowly go down to the top of your chest.
  2. Keep wrists stable and elbows under control.
  3. Push in a regular line without sudden movements.
Technique cue

Wrists locked and elbows controlled throughout the entire range.

Common mistakes
  • grip too narrow or too wide
  • broken wrists
  • descent too fast
  • loss of shoulder blade position
Safety notes

Risks of poor execution

  • The reverse grip can put more strain on the wrists and elbows if placed incorrectly.
  • Rapid execution increases the risk of joint irritation.
